Hour-by-Hour Dubrovnik Boat Tour Itinerary

Exactly how a perfect day on a Dubrovnik boat tour unfolds — from the 09:00 dock briefing to the 17:00 sunset return. The real schedule we've been running for years.

Dubrovnik boat tour itinerary full day Adriatic schedule

You book a boat. You arrive at the marina. Now what? Here’s exactly how a typical Elafiti islands day plays out, hour by hour, on our most popular full-day route.

08:30 · Wake-up & forecast check

I’ve already been at the marina since 06:30 checking the forecast. If conditions are wrong, you’ve already gotten a WhatsApp from me by 07:00. If you haven’t, the day is on.

Have breakfast. Pack a hat, sunscreen, swimsuit, towel (we provide one but a second is useful), waterproof phone case, ID, and a card or cash for lunch on Lopud.

09:00 · Pickup at Marina Frapa

You arrive. I (or your assigned skipper) meet you at the slip with a 5-minute briefing:

  • Where the life jackets are (kids first)
  • How the swim ladder works
  • Where the cooler with water is
  • Where to dump a wet towel (the bow locker)
  • Plan for the day

Engine on by 09:10.

09:15 · Out of Lapad bay

We motor slowly out of the bay (5 knots — marina speed limit). Once clear of the breakwater, throttle to cruising (18-22 knots on the Quicksilver 675).

If you’re new to boats, this is the moment most people relax. The wind, the sound of the engine, the city walls falling away to the right.

09:45 · Koločep — Blue Cave window

If we’re doing the Blue Cave + Elafiti combo, we hit the cave first while the light is at peak luminescence. 30 minutes in/around the cave: 10 minutes inside (snorkel time), 10 minutes at a small pebble beach east, 10 minutes back to the boat.

If we’re skipping the cave (busy day at the cave entrance), we run direct to Lopud.

10:30 · Lopud — Sunj beach

Sunj is one of the few sand beaches on the Dalmatian coast. We anchor 50m offshore in 4m of water. Swim to the beach, walk to one of the konobas above for a coffee, swim back. Or anchor and stay on the boat, jumping off the side.

This is the 2-hour stop. Most people lose track of time. I plan for it.

12:30 · Lopud — lunch at Konoba Peggy

Konoba Peggy is the family-run restaurant on the Sunj side of Lopud. We tie up at the small dock 100m from the konoba. €25-40 per person for fresh-caught fish, salad, local wine.

If you want a fancier lunch, we go to Hotel Lafodia restaurant on the other side of the island — €60+ per person, more polished, view of the bay.

If you want to skip restaurants entirely, we packed a cooler with bread, cheese, prosciutto, water, and a bottle of wine. Eat on the boat at anchor.

14:00 · Šipan — Suđurađ village

If you have a full-day booking (8 hrs), we continue to Šipan, the largest of the Elafiti islands. The village of Suđurađ has a small harbour, two Renaissance-era villas in stages of restoration, and a vineyard you can tour if booked ahead.

This is 2-hour stop #2. Most people walk around for 45 minutes, swim from the boat for 45 minutes, then doze for 30.

16:00 · Run home, slow

Engine on, easy cruising back. We pass north of Lopud and Koločep on the return — different angle, different photos.

If the light is good, I sometimes detour to the cliffs west of Koločep for sunset photos. Adds 20 minutes to the trip; almost everyone says yes.

17:00 · Back at Marina Frapa

Tied up. Cooler emptied. Wet towels dropped in the locker. Quick goodbye, and you’re walking up the dock toward dinner in Lapad.

If you booked a sunset extension (€50/hr), we stay out until 19:00 with a stop for prosecco.

What we never do

  • Cram more than the legal passenger count (this is the most common safety violation in Dubrovnik tourism)
  • Skip the safety briefing for repeat customers
  • Drink while operating the boat (Croatian law: 0.0% BAC for skippers)
  • Run when the harbourmaster has flagged the day
